Living in Seminole my entire life, my first employers
were Johnston Jewelers. They treated me like family then
and continue to do so today, as they have let me create
our spa in their original location.....this is my story.
In the 1970's sculptured nails were introduced to the
bay area. I was trained by a nail tech/salon owner in
the fine art of using ONLY hand files (no drills) to
create custom built enhanced nails. I do them both ways
in recent years, to fit the clients wishes. We were not
yet licensed with the Department of Professional
Regulation until many years later when they recognized
this field of the beauty profession, requiring training
and licensing. With 18 years of experience behind my
table, a "few" of us were grandfathered in. I qualified
and was accepted. Keeping up with continuing education
is a requirement to renew our Florida state licenses.
Being "Artistic", the appreciation for detail fascinates
me. After 32 years of rewarding work and loyal
clientele, I still feel extremely fulfilled........It's
my PASSION.
My family has been very supportive of all my
accomplishments.....especially my Dad, who, sadly, did
not get to see my newest salon before he passed on.
Without them, their love and my talented husband, Don, I
would not have achieved such a beautiful salon. Credit
goes to my close friends and clients for encouraging me
to take this direction. Special thanks to my brother,
Rick and his business partner, Ceaser, for all their
help in building expertise (Val Tech Homes).
Another valuable thank you goes to my niece, Shannon,
who dedicated endless hours of her time in creating the
salon's inviting ambience. Since then she has began two
new businesses
The Doggie Diva
&
Pawsitive zensations.
I am so
grateful that all of you believe in me.
To all my "Girls"..........I appreciate you every,
single day!
